We undertake commercial and residential roofing, including felt, liquid waterproofing, single-ply, pitched roofing, industrial sheeting and cladding. Our work ranges from reactive repairs and maintenance to substantial refurbishment projects.

You’ll have the authority to organise resources, make operational decisions and keep work progressing safely, efficiently and profitably, supported by experienced lead roofers, an existing project manager, office and administrative staff, and specialist estimators.

You will:

• Plan and allocate roofing gangs across live and upcoming projects, responding sensibly to changing priorities, weather, absence and overruns.
• Look ahead to identify problems and ensure projects are properly prepared before mobilisation.
• Review scopes, specifications and labour allowances, challenging unrealistic assumptions and identifying practical delivery risks.
• Support lead operatives with site issues, technical queries and decisions about how work should proceed.
• Manage selected contracts, maintain client communication and oversee progress, variations, quality and completion.
• Monitor labour usage and forecast remaining work, acting early where projects are falling behind or exceeding budget.
• Work with office support to coordinate materials, plant, access and logistics.
• Manage and develop site teams, while supporting the development of our existing project manager.
• Maintain appropriate health and safety standards and ensure work follows the agreed specification and method.
• Undertake selected surveys and help scope smaller works where required.

The emphasis is on operational judgement, leadership and delivery. Routine administration and quotation preparation are supported by the wider team.

You’ll have proven experience managing roofing work across several sites, with the practical knowledge to earn the confidence of experienced installers.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Experience planning and managing direct labour, roofing gangs and subcontractors.
• Strong roofing knowledge and an understanding of realistic installation methods, labour requirements and site constraints.
• The ability to manage competing demands and make decisions without constant direction.
• Commercial awareness, including labour budgets, variations and the effect of delays or rework on profitability.
• Clear communication with clients, operatives, suppliers and office colleagues.
• The ability to delegate effectively and follow through on agreed actions.
• Confidence using job management software and maintaining reliable project records.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Experience in commercial roofing refurbishment would be particularly relevant. You should have depth in relevant roofing systems and recognise when specialist technical advice is needed.

This role could suit an experienced Roofing Contracts Manager, Senior Contracts Manager or Operations Manager. We also welcome candidates who have progressed from roofing installation through supervision into proven contracts or operational management.
